The day when large oil refining in Bashkiria was commissioned fell on June 20 1938. On this day, the first tons of gasoline were produced at the ADU unit of the Ufimsky cracking plant, as Ufimsky Refinery was then called. Then, Novo-Ufimsky (Novoil) and Chernikovsky refineries (Ufaneftekhim) were built, and a powerful oil refinery complex was established in Ufa. Currently, all the three refineries are production sites of Bashneft's Unified Refinery.

The total processing capacity of a deeply integrated complex managed from a single center is up to 23.5 million tons of raw materials a year: Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim - 9.5 million tons per year, Bashneft-Novoil  -  7.4  million t per year,  Bashneft-UNPZ  -  6 . 6 million t per year.

Oil is supplied to the refinery by pipeline and rail transport, shipment is carried out mainly by rail.

The united refinery provides processing of crude oil produced in the Republic of Bashkortostan, West Siberian oil, as well as gas condensate.

The Unified Oil Refinery's production site includes the following processes:

Desalination and dehydration of oil, crude oil refining, visbreaking, catalytic, reforming, isomerization, sulfur production, distillate hydrotreating, catalytic cracking, hydrogen production, MTBE production, gas fractionation, gasoline hydrotreating, catalytic cracking.

The Novoil production site includes the following processes:

Oil desalination and dehydration, crude oil primary processing, catalytic reforming, distillate hydrotreating, isomerization, delayed coking, thermal cracking, de-asphalting, oil bitumen production, sulfur production, gas fractionation, oil selective treatment, oil dewaxing, gasoline distillation, sulfuric acid alkylation, hydrogen production.

The Ufaneftekhim production site includes the following processes:

Desalting and desciccation of oil, hydroskimming, visbreaking, deasphalting, catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, hydrotreating of distillates, secondary distillation of gasolines, platformate extraction, thermohydrodealkylation of toluene, transalkylation and disproportionation of aromatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbon absorption, xylene isomerization, benzene and toluene distillation, separation of orthoxylene, gas fractionation, collection of straight-run gases, oil bitumen, sulfur production and granulation, hydrogen production, slow coking, production of polymer distillate, hydrotreatment of catalytic cracking gasoline.

With the entry of Bashneft into the 4th quarter of 2016, Rosneft began a fundamentally new stage in the development of the Ufa Refinery Group. The integration of Bashneft's enterprises into Rosneft's production processes has increased production efficiency by an order of magnitude thanks to the mutual supply of components between the refineries.

In 2018, the main investment volume was directed to maintaining existing capacities and bringing to the requirements of norms and rules, as well as continuing the implementation of an integrated program for the development of the enterprise.

Bashneft-Novoil organized the release of motor gasoline with improved environmental and operational properties of AI-95-K5 Euro-6 according to STO 44905015-006-2017 to provide consumers of the Republic of Bashkortostan and motor gasoline AI-100-K5 according to STO 44905015-005-2017.
